Afternoon Workshop:
Best Books for Beginning Readers

Children who are learning to read need books written just for them—books with simple words and short sentences.  These books are different from picture books, and are called easy or beginning readers.  Join us for our afternoon workshop to learn the best titles for beginning readers, plus how to help children find easy readers that are “just right." Our speaker is Anastasia Suen, author of over 120 children’s books, available in English and Spanish.  She is a popular literacy blogger, teaches writing at SMU, and visits schools to teach the six traits of writing. 2.5 hours CE credit.

The Friends of CTLS are sponsoring a fundraiser through sales of Anastasia’s easy reader  books.  Order information will soon be available.

The Institute of Museum and Library Services, a federal agency that fosters innovation, leadership and a lifetime of learning, supports the Central Texas Library System, Inc. through the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.
